Meet Alex

To some it may sound cheesy, but it really has all been about community for me, from the moment I walked into my first Beavers Meeting at age 5.

I was elected in 2022, representing Acton as Ward 1 Councillor on the Town of Halton Hills.

I sit on the Halton Hills Public LIbrary Board and was elected the President of the Ontario Library Board Association by Library Boards across the Province. I was also unanimously elected Acting Chair for the Credit Valley-Toronto and Region-Central Lake Ontario (CTC) Source Protection Committee which oversees raw water quality in our area.

Before being on Council, I was Coordinator for the Downtown Acton Business Improvement Association (BIA), serving during the pandemic, watering Acton's flowers, running its market and organizing Leathertown Festival.

I am an avid volunteer, serving two terms as President of the Optimist Club of Halton Hills, Rector's Warden at St. Albans Church in Acton for the past five years and serving on the Development Committee for the Darling Home for Kids.

I have a background in local media and in small business, being the co-owner and primary teacher in a music business, something I still do to this day.

When I was with the BIA, I would be asked different questions about the community. Over time, I was encouraged by community members to put my name forward and run. It has been the honour of my life to have been elected and to be able to serve my community as a Local Councillor.

I look forward to continuing to earn your trust as I seek the Regional Seat for Wards 1 & 2.
